Golden Week fun

There is a group of holidays in Japan in late April and early May which is called Golden Week- we were busy with different things the whole time- one day we went to T's mother's house in Chigasaki, another day was a festival at the local shrine, and one evening we went out for sushi, which Riku also enjoyed!

In this collage there is also a picture of him in the bath with a kind of grass tied around his head- this is a Japanese tradition for Children's Day, May 5- tying the grass on them in the bath is supposed to ensure health for the following year. The fish-shaped sweets and crackers are also for Children's Day.
