First haircut!

At almost 21 months Riku has had his first haircut! His fringe has been at the point of getting in his eyes for over a month now and I actually tried to cut it when we were in NZ but he was having none of it! He was shaking his head and waving his arms around and since the only scissors I had were very blunt kitchen scissors I decided to leave it for the time being.

Two days ago though I decided to wait until he was busy and have another go- this time I also managed to even up the sides and back so he didn't end up with a mullet! Because I had to get in there quickly I have given him the classic too-short fringe that seems to be the hallmark of home haircuts, but I think given a couple of weeks it will look a bit more natural. Here's a "before" picture taken at the beach in NZ where you can see how long the fringe and the sides were getting:

He's looking more and more grown up all the time!
